ABOUT THE COMPANY

A public-private utility built to secure Visakhapatnam's industrial water supply

Visakhapatnam Industrial Water Supply Company Limited (VIWSCO) was established jointly by APIIC and IL&FS in July 1999 under the Indian Companies Act, 1956.

Its primary objective was to develop and implement the Visakhapatnam Industrial Water Supply Project (VIWSP) through a Concession from the Government of Andhra Pradesh on a BOOT basis, with PPP holdings originally shared by L&T, PSL Holdings, IL&FS, GVMC and APIIC.

Following an order of the Municipal Administration & Urban Development Department, GoAP, operations came under the purview of GVMC and APIIC from October 2006. Today the company is jointly held by GVMC (51%) and APIIC (49%), with a paid-up share capital of ₹44.95 crores.
